The median fee psychologists in the North West publish for one individual session is R975, from 24 psychologists who publish a fee, read in the week of 19 October 2026. Half of them publish between R850 and R1 213.
For counsellors it is R375 (from 6 counsellors). Across all three categories together (psychologists, counsellors and psychometrists), the median is R900, from 30 practitioners.
These are rates practitioners publish. They are not quotes, and the fee you pay can differ.
Where these numbers come from
This directory lists 227 practitioners in the North West. Of them, 30 publish an individual session fee: 24 psychologists and the rest counsellors or psychometrists. Of these 30 fees, 29 come from the practitioner's Psychology Today profile and 1 from their own website (read in October 2026).
The median is the middle value: half of the published fees are higher and half are lower. The middle half is the range from the 25th to the 75th percentile. Where fewer than 5 practitioners publish a fee, we do not show a median, because a handful of fees can swing it a long way.
