Privacy notice

This notice explains how this directory handles personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible

The responsible party is Leachie, a web studio in Cape Town that runs this directory. Contact: [email protected].

Personal information about practitioners

Each listing shows professional information a practitioner published about their practice on a public directory: name, category, job titles, HPCSA number where they publish one, suburb, city and province, whether they work online or in person, published session fee, therapy types, issues they work with, who they work with, languages, medical aids, years in practice, their own website and links to their source profiles.

We do not show phone numbers, email addresses, profile text or photos on this site, even where the source directory shows them.

Why we may use it: this is professional information the practitioner chose to make public so that clients can find them. POPIA allows us to collect it from those public directories rather than from the practitioner directly, because it was deliberately made public. We process it because it serves a legitimate interest: helping people find a practitioner, and the practitioner's own interest in being found. We show only what is needed for that.

The directories we read sometimes publish a practice phone number or email address. Leachie keeps these in its own records and does not show them on this site.

Having a listing removed or corrected

A practitioner can ask for their listing to be corrected or removed at any time. Use the links on the listing page or email [email protected]. We reply within 5 business days. A removed listing is added to a list that every future collection respects, so it does not return.

What the enquiry form keeps

When you send an enquiry about a practitioner, we keep:

  • the practitioner you asked about and the page you sent it from
  • your name, and the phone number and email address you give
  • your suburb, if you give it
  • your message
  • the type of browser you used, and a scrambled form of your internet address that changes every day, which we use only to block spam

We email the enquiry to Leachie and store it in our database, then pass your name, contact details and message to the practitioner you asked about, so they can contact you. If you give an email address, we send you a short note confirming what happens next. We do not reply about your situation ourselves.

Your message may include information about your health. Please share only what the practitioner needs to know to contact you. By sending the form, you agree that we may pass it to that practitioner.

How long we keep it: we keep an enquiry until it has been passed to the practitioner and is no longer needed, and we delete it sooner if you ask. Reply STOP to our confirmation email, or email [email protected], and we will delete your enquiry.

Our database and email providers may process this information outside South Africa, under their own data protection terms.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not set cookies. We also keep our own log of requests and clicks to improve the site: the page, what was clicked or searched for, country and city, the type of browser or bot, and the same daily-scrambled address; it holds no names or contact details.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to our use of it. Email [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
